THE BEREAVEMENT JOURNEY

Loss needs to be processed for our physical and mental health and wellbeing.

Unresolved grief can also affect our attitudes, relationships and attainment. The Bereavement Journey® is a place to talk - seven sessions of films and discussion for anyone, whether grieving a death now, or wanting to explore a previous bereavement that may be unresolved.

This course is for bereaved adults to do their own grief work and cover topics including attachment, separation and loss; the pain and responses to grief; anger and guilt; adjusting to change and moving forward healthily. It is supported by a manual and facilitated by volunteers.

It is most beneficial to attend at least a few weeks after the death - ideally after the funeral, but this is not essential and The Bereavement Journey can benefit those in anticipatory grief, also pregnancy loss.

DIGGING DEEPER

To grow as disciples of Jesus we need to read, understand and put into practice the Bible.

But maybe you find there are parts of the Bible you cannot get to grips with.  They feel like they are out of bounds for you.

We are starting a new group called Digging Deeper, for everyone who wants to engage more closely with the Bible.  This term we are going to spend six weeks looking at six different books of the Bible.  What is an easy way to start reading them?  How can I understand what it means?  What’s the big story and how do I apply it to my life?

We will look at the books of Genesis, Psalms, Proverbs, Acts, 1 Thessalonians and Revelation.

FOUNDATIONS COURSE

Do you sometimes think ‘I have been a Christian for a while, but a lot of things remain a puzzle,’ or 'I have been baptized in water.

But what next?’ Perhaps you love being in church but still feel like a beginner and have lots of questions.

Yes, we are learners all our lives but getting some good foundations in our Christian life as early as possible puts us in a good place for living as disciples of Jesus.

Martin, one of our elders, will be running a seven week course starting in October to go through these critical foundations.  If you have recently become a Christian or been baptised this will be ideal for you.  But maybe you have been a Christian for a while and feel there are important things you have never really grasped.  Then this course is also for you.
